I can breathe again!! (For a few more months, at least) The wedding is in the books. The honeymoon is over and we’re back on dry land. Now it’s time to focus on baby! And with only three more months to go my newest hobby is coming in handy when it comes to things for Little Man. Maybe it’s the Mommy gene kicking in, maybe it’s a side effect of nesting but I am completely obsessed with sewing! Right now I’ve been hand sewing things, and soon I’m going to get a sewing machine and really get cranking on my massive list of things to make. Here’s what I’ve made so far…..
I’m so proud of this pillow! The cute turtles and ladybug were in a packet of embroidery patterns that I found at my local fabric store, and the back is a pretty light green color that coordinates with the bumpers his Grandmummy is making for his bedding. It’s my first attempt at embroidery and I think I did a pretty good job! It took me pretty much the whole month of December to complete and I have no idea why I chose such a big task for my first embroidery project, but I couldn’t be more proud! I really hope Little Man will have this pillow for a long time to come. It’s going to go in the rocking chair in the nursery where we’ll spend many hours together reading and cuddling.
I found the pattern for this little lamb on my new favorite website, The Purl Bee. I am obsessed! I’ve found so many cute baby centric projects that I can’t wait to dive into once I get my sewing machine. This lamb was super quick and easy, only taking a few hours to hand stitch. Being the Southern gal that I am I can’t resist anything monogrammed and just had to add a cute seersucker M for a little personalization. I foresee many hours of cuddling in this little lamb’s future.
I’m really having fun with all my sewing projects. Not to mention how rewarding it is when I finish something for Little Man. I’m loving all this crafting! And it makes me feel productive when I can’t find the energy to get out of bed….
